Masters in Creative Art Therapy (Concordia University)
Presently, I am working full time as an art therapist at a women's shelter. There, I see clients individually and run open art therapy groups. My practice offers a safe and welcoming space for clients to explore life challenges, through the creative process. Individually, I work with a strength based approach supporting clients to find their voice. Together, we explore many themes: grief and loss, fear, trust, hope, and issues of attachment. Clients report reduced feelings of isolation, anxiety, and physical pain, as well as improved dexterity, feelings of empowerment, self mastery and well being. In the context of group art therapy, we promote skill sharing, communication, and relaxation. People work with their own ideas or with a proposed directive, such as themes of strength, growth, renewal, home, hope, etc.
