About the AATQ
The Association des art-thérapeutes du Québec was founded in 1981 and is one of four professional associations for art therapists in Canada. It is a bilingual organization, distributing information and services in both French and English.
The primary goals of the AATQ:
- promote the development of the profession of Art Therapy
- promote the ethical practice of Art Therapy
- protect the interests of the persons using the services of art therapists
- inform its professional and student members about research and development in Art Therapy
- inform the public and the other health professionals about the services, the practice and training of professional art therapists
- strive to establish and have Art Therapy recognized as a profession in Quebec and Canada
